چکیده

Introduction Breast cancer is the most common cancer among western women. Except for inherited mutations in the BRCA1, BRCA2, ATM, and p53 genes, little is known about the genetic risk factors for breast cancer. Recently, polymorphisms in genes involved in repair of DNA double-strand breaks were associated with risk of breast cancer (1). It has been proposed that oxidative stress contributes to breast cancer carcinogenesis (2). OGG1 encodes 8-oxo-guanine glycosylase, a key enzyme in repair of 8-oxo-guanine and other oxidative DNA damages. To investigate the possibility of an association between the polymorphism OGG1 Ser326Cys and breast cancer risk in postmenopausal women, we studied 425 cases and 434 controls, all recruited from the Danish Diet, Cancer and Health cohort.

Association between OGG1 Ser326Cys and APEX1 Asp148Glu polymorphisms and breast cancer risk: a meta-analysis

BACKGROUND The base excision repair (BER) pathway removes DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation, reactive oxidative species and methylating agents. OGG1 and APE1 are two important genes in the BER pathway. Many epidemiological studies have evaluated the association between polymorphisms in the two BER genes (OGG1 Ser326Cys and APE1 Asp148Glu) and breast cancer risk. However, the results are i...

Lack of any Association between the Hogg1 Ser326Cys Polymorphism and Breast Cancer Risk: a Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis Of 18 Studies

Background: The human 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase (hOGG1) gene may be linked with cancer susceptibility. The aim of this study was to quantitatively summarize any association between the hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and breast cancer (BC) risk. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive search of the PubMed, Embase, and ISI web of knowledge databases for papers published before 1 October 2016 was ...

The association between OGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and breast cancer risk: an updated meta-analysis of 20 case-control studies

Human 8-oxoguanine glycosylase 1 (hOGG1) plays an important role in the base excision repair (BER) pathway. Numerous epidemiological studies have explored the association between hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and breast cancer risk, but the results are inconsistent. We performed this meta-analysis to assess the association between Ser326Cys polymorphism and the risk of breast cancer, by critical...

Ser326Cys polymorphism in DNA repair genes hOGG1 in breast cancer women.

Reduced DNA repair capacity can render a high risk of developing many types of cancer; including breast cancer. Polymorphisms in DNA repair genes may contribute the genetic instability and carcinogenesis. In the present work the distribution of genotypes and frequency of alleles of the Ser326Cys polymorphism of hOGG1 gene in breast cancer women were analysed. Blood samples were obtained from 10...

Lack of association between the hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and gastric cancer risk: a meta-analysis.

AIM To clarify any association between the hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and susceptibility to gastric cancer. METHODS A meta-analysis based on 11 eligible case-control studies involving 5,107 subjects was carried out to summarize the data on the association between hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and gastric cancer risk. RESULTS No association was found between hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and...
